Keep the always-online DRM {or alternatives (see below)} for future PC games

Think about this logically.
If Ubisoft claim that having the always-online DRM is going to prevent people from buying the Assassin's Creed Series on PC because they feel that not enough people have a stable enough internet connection, think again.

In the link below, we can see that people in their THOUSANDS have cancelled their pre-orders of Assassin's Creed Revelations, because someone has cracked it already. This has/will cost Ubisoft several thousands of dollars.
Why do people do this? Because they feel that the multiplayer alone is not worth paying £25 ($35). If they can get the game on the 23rd of November, (10 days before the official release), then why wouldn't they download it?

The ONLY way to stop piracy is to have the always-online DRM. This will only affect a few people with dodgy internet connections and a timeout period could be introduced.
Let's say for the first half an hour of playing the game, every 5 minutes, a signal is sent from the Ubi servers to the user playing the game and if a positive serial/account verification is not received within 5 seconds of the user receiving the signal, their game is shut off. After the 1/2 hour, the game can either continue as normal, or the check can be done every 20 minutes instead. This would NOT be hard to introduce and with the money saved from piracy, more games can be made better. The cost this will be to introduce this system will be a big saver for generations of games to come.

HELP STOP PIRACY AND SIGN THIS PETITION!!

If you feel you don't want to sign this petition, then have a re-think. If Ubisoft keep losing money from illegals downloading their PC games, then they are just going to stop PC games altogether.
