This petition has been created to saved the Pugs of color all over the world from extinction. In Canada on the Decision of a Dogshow Conformation Judge to award a FIRST PLACE RIBBON to a BRINDLE PUG in the SHOW RING on his MERITS, the Pug Clubs have decided in their infinate wisdom that only Fawn and Black Pugs should be allowed to be registered and shown if they can make it so. They are trying to make a law in the registry that Pugs of color only be allowed limited registration now with no access to the main registry and that they not be allowed to have offspring of any color that can be registered thus creating a genocide effect on all Pugs of color. The Pugs of COLOR would evenually become totally eradicated from the pug breed. Unfortunately we have received heartbreaking news that they have succeeded in passing this law in Austrailia. The Pug Color Club is trying desperately to stop this horrible fate for the beautiful pugs of color in the rest of the world but we need your help. Please if you love Pugs of all colors or own a pug of color or a traditional colored pug from a pug of color history SIGN THE PETITION and HELP STOP THIS GENOCIDE !!!!!!!!!! I have two Pugs...One silver fawn and one totally black. Both adorable and I would just die if someone hurt them. If anyone touches my babies...they will have me to deal with. I love the breed and any color of Pug is great to me. They are the most loveable and most protective dogs I have ever had, I love them dearly!!

One one will touch my papers or dogs. Trust me.

This is stupid and ridiculous snobbery. Look at the history of pugs and you know that black pugs were killed for a very long time. Black pugs have the same gentle and beautiful natures that fawn pugs have and yet they were killed!!! Why haven't you learnt from that? You're supposed to be an organization that protects animals and doesn't help destroy them. I'm disgusted at hearing what you're trying to do.

Quite frankly it wouldn't bother me at all as any organization that shows total disregard for the lives of innocent animals is really not worth acknowledgement.

I do not feel that discriminating against a dog because of color is like doing the same to people. Are we going to start saying that certant people are no longer people because the are of different colors???? Where is it going to stop. They are still dogs and are still pugs what does color or no color have to do with it? Last I knew black and fawn WERE colors too.

What will you do if they take your your registry papers because they have pugs of color in their history? I'll fight it. Don't see why they would have the right to do that. They are still a pug whether there is color or not. I think the pugs of color are BEAUTIFUL !!!!

I have worked for years for Parti colored poodles to be accepted and able to show. Which we have now for UKC. the Poodle Club would also like to think that parti poodles are rare and unwanted, when the first paintings of poodles are mostly all parti's. Color is just that, color and should have no bearing on the conformation on a dog. Limited registrations should be in the hands of the breeders who use it to limit the offspring of a "pet quality" dog. It should not be a weapon for the Pug club to use.

Exactly how will you know if a dog has a pug of color in it's history. For years parti poodles have been registered by using the color that they are predominately, so papers do not reflect if a dog is of color or not. Let this go and get on to the health of your breed, like breathing problems. You know something important.

Just because a Pug is a rare color does not mean that it does not carry the characteristics of the breed. Do the AKC and CKC think that they are so wise that they have the right to decree that pugs can only be fawn and black or pure black? They do not seem to take a stand by allowing indiscriminant cross breeding of Pugs with other breeds to create the new craze "designer dog". Yet they choke on a pug being colored when it is a historical color that has a long history of being there.

If I had a papered pug of color I would fight to the death to keep it's papers. Genocide should not be allowed for animals as it should not be allowed for humans.

THE PUG IS A NOBLE BREED AND HAVE BEEN FOR CENTURIES. THE COLOR OF THE PUG SHOULD NOT BE A CAUSE TO REMOVE THEM FROM THE REGISTRY. THEY ARE THE SAME LOVABLE DOG WITH OR WITHOUT A RARE COLOR MARKING. ALL THE PUG WANTS TO DO IS LOVE AND BE LOVED, AND NOT TREATED AS AN ANIMAL THAT MEANS NOTHING TO THE AKC OR THE CKC.

AT PRESENT I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO EXCEPT TO CONTINUE LOVING EVERY PUG I OWN AND SEE. IN MY SMALL COMMUNITY WE DON'T HAVE MANY PEOPLE OWNING PUGS AND THEY ARE A RARE SIGHT NO MATTER WHAT THE COLOR. EVERY PERSON THAT MY PUGS MEET THEY PUT ON A LOVABLE SHOW ON THEIR MANNERS AND THE LOVE PUGS HAVE FOR PEOPLE. IT MAY NOT MATTER TO ME OF ANY CHANGES IN THE REGISTRY I WILL STILL LOVE AND OWN PUGS. registered pugs offspring ,no matter what color, heritage should not be taken away from them. if born under registered parents, then they should be registered , their coloring should be allowed on their registration papers as identifing markers, it is their right, the registration papers obtained from the akc and ckc need to be updated. we do not need to practice genocide, i thought that was a crime.

akc and ckc would only be causing problems for their organizations, people love their pugs, regardless of color, if they can not registar them or show them, that would be respect and reveune that the akc and ckc would lose. people are going to have their pugs.

I feel it is insane to eradicate a color of dog because it doesn't fit what was considered the norm in the 1800's after all life goes on a things change. Take for example in he equine world "Paint's vs Pinto's" Apha is for the breed and the genetics of the paint horse. Where as the Ptha is dedicated to the color and markings of the paint horse via any breed of horse. Why can't the solution for this pug problem be just a simple. The AKC,& the CKC is talking about basically killing off progression in the breed not just a color. My pug for example is a stone colored fawn, now I would have never known the difference until I read about this horrid law.

If the AKA or CKC take my papers due to color you can be sure i would fight it in court. Or mayb i would do one better and just go out and help start a organization aimed to register pugs of color.
