During the last decade or so before his untimely death, Michael Jackson was mistakenly maligned by the media on a number of issues. Some of that began shortly after a fire that messed up his face for a shoot on the Pepsi commercial several years ago. Coupling that with his Peter Pan type behavior, many in the media as well as others with bigoted attitudes combined to criticize and distort the real Michael Jackson to his many fans. Unfortunately, Michael Jackson became too trusting of medical practitioners more interested in pushing painkillers on him and padding their personal bank accounts. How often have we seen rich people become overly-reliant on experts to help them with their millions when they were simply sapping the money for themselves? Additionally, in reference to MJ's Peter Pan mentality, that was a concept little understood by most people. Michael was mimicking the character we love in the play, but despise of in real life. Even if there was only minimal contact, many thought the worst of Michael. A most unfortunate set of circumstances for such a talented man. Goodbye, Michael, we miss you! |
