Repeal the Death Penalty in Illinois

  • by: ICADP
  • recipient: Governor Pat Quinn
Legislators in Illinois recently passed bill SB 3539 which is aiming to repeal the death penalty. Now it is imperative that Governor Quinn signs this bill. The death penalty is expensive, ineffective, harmful to murder victims' families, and to open to error, letting innocent people be put to death. Please tell the Governor to sign yes and save lives!
We the undersigned are asking you to sign into action SB 3539. The death penalty in Illinois needs to come to an end. Not only is it expensive, ineffective, and insensitive to murder victims' families, it is too open to error and puts innocent people on death row. We hope you will take the time to concider the implications of not passing this bill and find it in your heart to repeal the death penalty and save lives. Thank you so much for your time.
