The koala, an Australian icon, could become extinct in southeast Queensland within the next few years! Can you imagine coming to Australia and seeking a wildlife encounter with these beloved marsupials only to find that they were disappearing due to habitat loss and disease. The increased growth and development stripping them of what little habitat they have is forcing them to come down from the treetops to cross roads leading to accidents and also the danger of animal bites which often kill them. Disease is becoming an epidemic with retrovirus positive results in nearly ALL the population of wild koalas as well. Please register your concern and show the Queensland Government that the world is against this tragedy! A koala rally will be held on the "Day of the Koala" in Brisbane on 25 September 2009. Please show your support to help save this wonderful animal!
