"Save my school!!! I am a regular 8th grade kid in a town called long valley located in new jersey, and my school's music program needs saving. for years now the school has slowly been destroying our music programs such as the chorus, band, and orchestra programs. somehow every year they are able to take more and more away from it. the chorus program has not been during school hours for years now, resulting in almost no more chourus program.orchestra and band program is getting shorter and shorter each year until sooniworry there will be none at all. our music teachers are trying there hardest not to have music cut from our school but they need help. us students are also trying our absolute hardest. one student in paticular has done a lot by starting the facebook group "Save the long valley middle school orchestra and band!!!!" please i urge you to go check it out. just by looking at a few of the posts you can tell that we want the music to stay in long valley. not only students are in this group but everyone from parents to former students who have grown up are joined. our goal is to have a thousand members. please go and see what really is going on. also there is a board of ed meeting going on, on the 23rd and i would apreciate it if you guys at save the music could show up and show to the board why music is so important. and thats what this is about. saving the music. music is important to everyone. music can do so much for a single person. it has also saved me and probably has saved you whether you know it or not. so please. now it is our turn to do the saving. and help me help my town save the music." - Maddy Hodgetts
