Save the Wild Horses

Target:
BLM, U.S. Senators, Secretary of the Interior
Sponsored by:
Federal officials have said that they are being faced with hard choices because wild horses have overpopulated public lands and they can no longer afford to care for the number of horses that have been rounded up. They plan on euthanasing several of the beautiful horses that make up a big part of America`s history.

There are an estimated 33, 000 wild horses in 10 western states, and about half of them are in Nevada. The 'appropriate' target amount set is about 27, 000 and another 30, 000 of the horses are in holding facilities, up for adoption.

My love for mustangs has been around ever since I discovered horses. When the movies Spirit and Hidalgo came out, they stoked the fire burning within me. And now it is going full force. I love these animals, and will not stand by and watch them die without doing anything about it!

If we the people don`t step up and say anything, these horses will be ceasing to exist in a few years! They`ll become only pictures and descriptions in books, which are being read less and less each year. They (the mustangs) are the symbol of the wilderness, freedom, and independent spirit of the United States of America. Some people are afraid to stand up and voice their opinions. But I`m not! In the Constitution it says we have the freedom of speech! And I intend to use that freedom to save the horses I love!

So who is with me?!

We the undersigned want the killing of wild horses to stop. It isn`t right to kill them. If the government can`t handle all of them, they should give them away to people who want them. Anything to save them!

I don't see why people think wild horses are a problem in the Nevada region. They are beautiful creatures, and you rarely see a wild animal like the mustang roaming around near where you live. We need to respect them and leave them be, let them run wild in our desert. Wild horses are our western history that humans want to erase. Leave the horses alone!!!!!!

Horses were born to be free, they are beautiful free sprited animals that impacted my life as young as 4 years old. I grew up on a horse farm that my great aunt owned. Aunt Allie raced her horses and we took care of them. The only peace I have ever found in my life lies in the eyes of a horse and that will never change. All horses deserve the right to live and roam free on the land that God made for them, don't take the peace that God gave to these animals.

These beautiful animals must be saved from this abusive treatment and be allowed to roam free on the land that is their home. The greed of humans has to end.

Horses are my passion and to think that people are just going to kill them because they're over populated is absolutely appalling!

These horses are a value in and of themselves. It is a horrible fate that the BLM & government has in store for them. Do not let them die for greed and poor management.

Wild horses are meant to be wild and not sold to other countries for consumption. This is an outrage! The beauty of America is being compromised. We must try to preserve what was here before us. Wild horses must have a place on this land. It doesn't belong to us. We are all here together....we must cohabit the earth in harmony.
