After a peaceful protest and a letter to the only cargo airline in Ft Lauderdale to import monkeys headed for research labs and vivisection, Amerijet has sent a letter to Animal Rights Foundation of Florida stating the airline will not be canceling their “monkey flights” anytime soon and threatened the organization with legal action under the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act if they continue to target the airline.
David G. Basset, CEO of Amerijet International, Inc. has said, “to refuse to provide transportation services requested of us does not respect our customers’ right to engage in lawful pursuits.”
However, when Amerijet received notification that one of their clients, Primate Products was under investigation by the USDA for injuring several monkeys, the company continued to do business with them, as usual.
The Fort Lauderdale-based company is the only airline in the country to import research monkeys headed for cruel and inhumane research labs and vivisection experiments.
We ask you to stop shipping research monkeys. It supports these animals being taken from the wild and raised under barbaric conditions on monkey breeding farms. It has been proven repeatedly that experiments on animals yeilds no benefit to human sciences. Requesting a company to change business practices is NOT "Animal Terrorism".
