Stop the illegal and INHUMANE killing of Chickens

According to the Dutch slaughterhouse manager:
"There is a natural tension between animal welfare and meat quality when it comes to stunning poultry as good meat quality (without blood spots and bruising) is only ensured when the voltage is low - too low to ensure a proper stunning".
The electrified stun bath is the most commonly used method of stunning poultry in Canada. However, Canada has the same federal slaughter regulations as The Netherlands, yet our government has made no indication that it will ban the use of electrified stun baths for poultry slaughter.

What You Can Do to Help Poultry in Canada
By converting to Controlled-Atmosphere Killing using inert gases such as argon or nitrogen, the birds no longer need to be hung by their feet. It's much more humane and the birds are killed instantly.
Please urge Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Gerry Ritz to:
Ensure current slaughter regulations covering poultry are applied and enforced as they are intended to be; and ban the use of electrified stun baths in poultry slaughter.

We the undersigned are sending you this letter pleading you to enuse that slaughter regulations are enforced and ban the use of the electrified stun baths in polutry slaughter. It is proven that alot of slaughter houses do not comply with the legal minimum standard of electricity per bird while using the stun bath method. Many birds are not fully stunned and feel everything that it being done to them. This is not right and not legal. Regulations Meat Inspection Act %u2013 PART III
These regulations are not being met.
79. Every food animal that is slaughtered shall,
before being bled,
There is footage of animals still alive and being slit open and bled to death.
(a) be rendered unconscious in a manner
that ensures that it does not regain
consciousness before death, by one of the
following methods:
Many animals who do go unconscious, DO wake up and go through the pain of being tortured and killed.
(i) by delivering a blow to the head by
means of a penetrating or non-penetrating
mechanical device in a manner that causes
immediate loss of consciousness,
Many animals never loose consciousness, but die in a horrible and painful way.
(ii) by exposure to a gas or a gas mixture
in a manner that causes a rapid loss of
consciousness, or
(iii) by the application of an electrical
current in a manner that causes immediate
loss of consciousness.
Many animals are still alive even during the skinning process.
This brings shame upon our country. Canada is own as a peacefull country, but more and more people are not seeing it that way anymore. Please Stop the illegal and inhumane killing of turkeys and chickens in Canada.
