Every year over a hundred thousand shark fins are imported to Canada from the PRC (People's Republic of China). Many of the Shark fins imported are from sharks on the IUCN list of threatened animals. I hope to have the import of shark fins banned in Canada by 2015. 

We, the undersigned, wish to protest the neutral standpoint that the office of the environment minister of Canada has taken in the matter of shark finning. Due to the threatened status of many shark species we are requesting that the government of Canada ban the practice of shark finning in Canadian waters as well as ban the importation of shark fin and the sale of shark fin in Canadian stores.
