Organic farming has many advantages for the conscientious consumer.  It has a lower environmental impact by being grown without pesticides, fungicides, and fertilizers.  Plus there are the health benefits of not ingesting or being exposed to any chemicals associated with more commercial farming methods.  In addition, many organic farms tend to be smaller and more local, providing fresher products, and requiring fewer fossil fuels to transport products to market.  Organic farming can be a real "win" for the consumer!
