We, the undersigned, commend those who participated in the sit-in at the Kimmel building, and fully support all of their demands. We see in their effort a pursuit of badly needed democratic reform at NYU. For years, and particularly under the tenure of President John Sexton, NYU's administration has stonewalled all attempts to make the university a socially responsible institution whose operations would be open to democratic scrutiny. We condemn any and all efforts to retaliate against, punish, or sanction the students involved in the sit-in, and further insist that the administration meet the demands that were raised by the sit-in.

We Will All Distribute your idiotic to Big Media and Start Letting those “Useless Talking Heads on TV News” know what’s really worth reporting to the world… And they will Report it as we will also through our blogs.. … … I’m sickened and disgusted. I am proud, in this moment, in this time, to be an American college student. What you guys are doing is great- keep it up. Keep making moves and shaking up the world.
Just a comment, the list of your demands was fantastic, I was supremely surprised and impressed by many if not all of them. I am proud to have this group as a representative of all American universities and colleges. STAY ACTIVE!

When I started NYU in the fall of 2000, my student need was substantial. The federal government estimated my expected family contribution to be around $3500, but upon recieving my financial aid package NYU required around $35,000. This was a few thousand dollars more than my family brought home for the entire year before.
After speaking with NYU, I was advised to get a student loan or have my family get loans with a monthly balance above the cost of our mortgage. Faced with this choice, I got a loan my self. I loved my time at NYU, but I do not love the $150,000 loans that I have as a result.
If NYU continues these type of practices some of the best students will be forced to attend other schools because of cost. This will be unfortunate for both the students and the institution. Please lend your support to these students and future NYU students for financial reform.
