Demand Safer Roads for Pedestrians on Norristown and Horsham Roads

Cars on Norristown and Horsham roads are completely unaware of the safety hazards of driving too fast on whats suppose to be pedestrian friendly roads. The school buses stopping for children are honking at cars who disobey the stop signs by not just driving through them, but speeding through them, and trying to sneak around the bus by using the turning lane that tends to be on the side students use to enter and exit the bus. This disrespect has gone so far that it is impossible to walk along these streets safely no matter your height, what clothes you wear, and how cautious you try to be. This petition was made to lower the speed limits on Norristown and Horsham roads, put another stop sign in on Sawyers way and Norristown road (on the entrance to Sawyers way), and add side walks along the left side of Horsham from the Horsham Police station all the way to the Horsham and Norristown and wraps around all the way down to Welsh road. These requests seem to be within reason and may take a little while to complete, but students should be able to walk the 15-20 minute distance to Hatboro-Horsham High School without feeling like they or their siblings may die on those roads. As a student who has one car and can't safely exit my house to visit our local baseball/softball fields or to hang out at Bagel and Bread House for nearly 10 years, I want to make the roads safer for my younger sibling and my friends siblings who want to walk to school, who want to enjoy their summer days outside of their house, and who want to bike our local walking trail that seems completely hopeless to get to because of the lack of safety and sidewalks along Norristown and Horsham roads.
