Save pets with speed bumps on Woad Lane, Long Sutton, UK

Last week my beloved 20 month old kitten became the latest in a long line of pet casualties to be killed in Woad Lane, Long Sutton. I ran out into the road but was too late to save him and was knocked down by the car, which did not stop.

I received only scrapes and bruises but a dozen animals this year alone have not been so lucky; the problem is that the road is on the outskirts of town and is so straight drivers think they can get away with reckless driving, even though it leads directly into a residential area and has a 30mph speed limit.

would like traffic calming measures installed on the road; a single speed bump might prevent further tragedies, not to mention make the street safer for both the children in Woad Lane and the ones who play in the popular park at the end of the road.
