This is not exactly a petition. But we need to know who can participate your local protest to save dolphins in Taiji. Details are below. Please write your location like the state and county. Thank you.

Now this is the details of our new campaign. Please read carefully. Thank you.

[The facts we need to consider]

Japan is a small island country, and they did not have any diplomacy or foreign exchange until late 19th century. And 70% of Japanese soil is mountains. Therefore their food resource was very limited. So they ate everything from the ocean such as sea weed and toxic blowfish.

Japanese people call it 'Island country spirits'. They are on their own so basically they don't care much about the other countries and the foreigners.

Japan started whaling 400 years ago. Whales were one of their good food resauce, and they claim they did not waste any parts of a whale, like they used its teeth as hair and toothbrush. And the surprising fact is, it's in their education. They teach children that they used the every part of whale's body so they did not waste anything unlike other countries use only whale oil.

Japanese whaling association had the conference at Taiji in 2006. And they regarded the case in Taiji as their ideal model of whaling. They praised the fact that the elementary schools in Taiji are using dolphin meat in children's lunch menu and hoping all other schools in the country adapt it as well. Basically, they hope the Japanese government rejects the law of IWC so they can commit the free whaling once again.

Even though the most of Japanese people don't eat dolphin meat, and most likely, they are against the dolphin slaughter, It is so hard to protest in Japan because they are all afraid of the nationalists. Those nationalists are nasty and everywhere. But the truth is, nationalists don't care about the dolphin hunting, they are only against the interference over their law and traditions from the foreigners and the foreign countries.

I talked to the officials at some prefectural offices who have the permission to hunt dolphins. They said they don't see any problem for hunting dolphins because that's their long time traditions and the hunting is not against the law. When I mentioned about the protest, they said it's just annoying but it doesn't affect their business. So I suggested what if we, Japanese people, who are living in the other countries are under the pressure from the protesters or even harassment? And then they got jumpy in all of sudden, asking me if such a thing actually occured. Obviously, they never heard of such a thing that directly affect the life of Japanese immigrants or the Japanese companies.

[The proposal for the campaign]

The Japanese government and the local authorities do not flinch against the protest toward them but they are afraid of all those Japanese immigrants and Japanese companies get under pressure. If they are under such pressure, they'd complain to the Japanese embassy or even the government for sure. Imagine if that happens all over the world.

So if you can find the Japanese supermarket or restaurant or car dealer nearby, go over there and protest. Tell customers not to buy the Japanese products because if they do, they are helping the dolphin slaughter. Tell Japanese customers that the Japanese whaling association is trying to serve whale and dolphin meat on the lunch menu at the elementary schools, and ask them if that's okay for their kids. Tell them you don't like them because their people kill dolphins and eat them. Be nasty, mean, and aggressive to them. Even though you don't dislike them, pretend to hate them for dolphins. Make them uncomfortable. Make them complain to their embassy.

[Be prepared for the argument]

1) Whaling and dolphin hunting are Japanese tradition for 400 years.

Since whaling stared, 90% of whales disappeared from the ocean. And whose fault is that? Who created so many extinctions of animals? Perhaps, whaling was a good tradition for them long time ago but it's not anymore. The world has changed. The new culture emerged. Do they still use whale toothbrush and say this is our good tradition? I don't think so.

2) The Japanese government and authorities claim they don't see any difference between the consumption of dolphins and the consumption of beef, poke, and pig. Why should we stop it then?

Our primary objective is stopping all animal consumptions eventually. In order to do that, we need to stop the minority such as dolphin and dog eating first. How can we stop the majority of consumption such as beef, poke, and chicken if we can't even stop the minority?

This is my motive,

Taiji is Alamo for the Japanese whaling association. If we can take it down, Japanese whaling has nowhere to go. They want to reestablish their stupid business and get rich again. That's the only reason they intend to push the government to reject the IWC law. So please everyone, now is the time to act and achieve our first step toward the goal to stop every animal cruelty on this planet.

I am Japanese and l love my country. But I believe if we stop Taiji, we can make Japan as the first Asian country with no more animal cruelty. So my fellow Japanese people can say 'No more animal cruelty!' loudly to the other Asian countries. And then Japan will become our beachhead to achieve our ultimate goal. Thank you for reading. Good luck and God speed to all of you!
