Stop the Execution of Mary Jane Veloso

Mary Jane Veloso, a Philippine national, was arrested in Indonesia, tried, convicted and sentenced to death for smuggling heroin. She had in her possession a suitcase packed by her handler, while posing as an employment recruiter. Mary Jane Veloso thought she was going to Indonesia to a job.

Mary Jane Veloso was given a stay of execution in the midnight hour of her execution date in Indonesia on April 29, 2015. Her handler came forward in the Philippines right before the execution and surrendered to the Philippine Police. The handler and 2 more people have been charged in the Philippines for human trafficking, illegal recruiting and fraud.

Mary Jane Veloso is still subject to execution by the Government of Indonesia, where she is still jailed. Mary Jane Veloso is a victim of human trafficking and I am asking the world to stand up on her behalf to save her life. She has children in the Philippines. Thank you so much for your support.
