Tell School to Rehire Teacher Fired for Being a Domestic Abuse Survivor!

Holy Trinity School, a Catholic school in San Diego, recently fired a teacher who had suffered domestic abuse on the grounds that her husband's threatening behavior made her unsafe to be around. They told her she would not be allowed to work at any of the other diocesan schools in the district.

The teacher, Carie Charlesworth, worked in the school district for 14 years. The school found out about her situation when she requested a leave of absence following abuse in January.

Charlesworth has four children who depend on her, and she has done nothing to deserve this punishment. Her husband is currently incarcerated and poses no threat to students and staff. Domestic abuse victims are already afraid to come forward, and a case like this will intimidate them further. The school's actions are not protecting students; they're setting a terrible precedent which will endanger other abuse victims and their children. Please sign the petition to urge school officials to reinstate Carie Charlesworth's teaching position.
