Dubai Police: Crack Down on Dog-Napping!

Last October, British Dubai resident Elizabeth woke up to find one of her husky puppies missing. Police let her watch security footage of her residence, which showed a thief calling for the dog and taking it away in a small bus. After further investigation, Elizabeth found her pup at a bird and animal market in one of the northern emirates.

Most pet owners are not as lucky. Organized groups are breaking into people's houses and stealing their dogs, particularly huskies, which sell for a large profit on the market. Thieves also pluck huskies who get loose or walk off-leash when owners aren't paying attention. Stolen dogs can easily be sold in markets, which are poorly monitored.

Police should not tolerate thieves making a profit from stealing someone's pets! Please sign the petition to urge Dubai law enforcement to make it a priority to break up these crime rings and monitor markets to curb sales of stolen pets.

We the undersigned, are concerned with the ongoing dog thefts in your jurisdiction.
