Help Save Feral Cats @ West Palm Beach Business and Vote to name a legal Colony

  • by: Katherine Douglas
  • recipient: Local Business owners around the property and Code Enforcement to allow Colony to be formed

Most people don't realize how many pets have been dumped and left homeless to fend for themselves in West Palm Beach and all over this country.  Animal Care and Control gets countless surrenders every day where animals are euthanized as there are just too many to foster and hold onto for adoption.  I came across one such "unofficial colony" of cats that consisted of mostly fixed house cats that had been let go.  I have been caring for them and am trying to get the owner of property who is open to forming a colony legally in my name, code enforcement who has filed a violation against the owner for the cats due to an angry neighboring business owner adjacent to property to allow a colony to be formed and prevent their destruction.   For years noone has complained or said anything about the cats and appreciated them.  Now they are in danger of being trapped or driven out with nowhere to go.  If trapped and taken to ACC, they will be euthanized.  All are healthy, happy cats and most adoptable. I have already removed many kittens and adopted out some including one I have who is a wonderful pet!

I NEED YOUR VOTE TO ENCOURAGE THE BUSINESS OWNERS ANGELOCCI ELECTRIC, GEOALARM, AND CODE ENFORCEMENT, AND THE CITY OF WEST PALM TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE COLONY OF FERALS AS A LEGAL COLONY FOR WHICH I AND A GROUP OF WEST PALM BEACH TNR (TRAP NEUTER RELEASE) GROUPS WILL MAINTAIN, FEED AND OVERSEE.

The business owners gain a sterilized close knit colony of healthy, beautiful cats that will be caught neutered and vaccinated if NOT ALREADY, micro chipped so they are identifiable if caught, and rereleased onto property as a sterile population.

BENEFITS

Sterlized colony will keep away new colonies that are unsterilized from repopulating in that area if they were removed and keep this overpopulation problem from happening again.

Fed within requirements by law under feral cat Colony Codes, the cats will help control rat and rodent populations in the area.

Animals will not be inhumanely killed and many caught may have a chance for adoption especially younger kittens and some who are more socialized.

It will set a precedent in this town that there is a more humane way to deal with an inhumanely cruel habit of pet owners dumping their pets burdening the animals with a difficult life, and business owners with a controlled population of ferals as wouldn't be WITH THE STERILIZED COLONY.  Business owners can use a more humane way to rectify a growing problem and reap the benefits of keeping other ferals off property and keeping rat populations down

I maintain the colony, feeding, and monitoring their condition by state requirements: which set forth how to care for a colony ie where to feed, how much, how often, numbers, etc.  It is regulated and monitored by state authorities under the ACC, Animal Care and Control

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION EVEN IF YOU DONT LIVE IN WEST PALM IN SUPPORT OF THIS IDEA AND HELP ME SET A PRECEDENT WITH THE HELP OF A WILLING BUSINESS OWNER AND POERTY OWNER WHWO IS WILLING TO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT IF IT SOLVES A PROBLEM. HELP ME INCERASE AWARENESS THAT THE REAL PROBLEM IS NOT THE FERALS BUT THE PET OWNERS WHO DONT SPAY NEUTER PETS, GET THEM MICRO CHIPPED AN DUMP RELEASE THEIR PETS WHO CANT FEND FOR THEMSELVES.

I NEED YOUR VOTE NOW! PLEASE ADD YOUR VOTE FOR CHANGE IN HOW PEOPLE DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM!
