URGE City Council to vote “NO” on Baker Road Tank Farm

PLEASE HELP convince Baytown City Council to “Vote NO” on Vopak Moda Houston special use permit to build and operate a crude oil tank farm on Baker Road (12 above-ground tanks, each 155’ diameter and 90’ tall, domed, located next to St. James House).

• It would be inherently dangerous, given its proximity to St. James House (assisted living facility), Baytown Junior High, Travis Elementary, and neighboring communities
• Vopak and other chemical tank farm operations have a history of dangerous safety incidents and violating Texas safety and pollution regulations that have required emergency evacuations in neighborhoods in which they operate
• Perpetuates Baytown’s image as a toxic refinery town
Residents of Baytown, please sign this petition to URGE the Baytown City Council members to vote NO on granting VMH Petrochemical Storage (Terminal Tank Farm) Special Use Permit.

Thank you - Baytown Residents Against the Tank Farm
