A dear friend of mine has recently been forced to change her name on her Facebook account. She told me Facebook demanded she change her name because it does not meet their criteria for a real name. Facebook is a site for everyone and users should be allowed to go under any name they please.
Some members choose a different name for safety reasons! Maybe there is someone dangerous they are trying to stay away from, and therefore they need to change their names to something unrecognizable to stay safe. Other people feel like their name does not fit them anymore, than they would like to change it at least on Facebook. Why is it OK for members to have whatever username they want on other public forums and websites, but not on Facebook?
Please sign and let Facebook know that this is a crazy policy and needs to be changed for members! If we can get through to them, it may help thousands of others! Thank you!
