Elders Protecting and Abuse Prevention

    This bill which is the Elder Protection Act which is sponsored by Matt Cartwright.
    This bill aims to eliminate abuse and neglect from society. (H.R.6744 Elder Protection and abuse prevention act Cartwright, 115th Congress 2018.)The bill will be a federal-wide policy that will be implemented by all 50 states in the United States territory. This bill advocates against neglect. Considering isolation is the leading cause of death amongst the elderly. The NASW code of ethics supports this bill because they have the same ethical values.
    The National Association Of Social Workers Standard 6.04 Social and Political Action session (a) Social workers should engage in social and political action that seeks to ensure that all people have equal access to resources, employment, services and opportunities they require to meet their basic human needs and to develop fully. Social workers should be aware of the impact of the political arena on practice and should advocate for changes in policy and legislation to improve the social condition in order to meet basic human needs and promote social justice. The NASW code of ethics implies that all individuals should be protected by policies and laws. They are all equal before policies and laws. All individuals should be protected under these laws and policies. It's a social worker obligation to fight for the vulnerable population. This policy stands for change because the NASW code of ethics stands for the vulnerable population. America should care for the most vulnerable. By implementing this bill it will give them access to care, community outlets, and hospital care. By receiving this information individuals feel like they are a part of the community. The writer will further her stance by discussing Gilbert’s policy analysis framework. The Gilbert Policy Analysis Framework discusses the basic of social allocations. It discusses the policy services. Elderly adults will receive benefits from this policy.
    The benefit these vulnerable population are going to be in power. They will also have access to medical services. These services will be provided through community center. They will also receive information regarding their basic human rights. The NASW code of ethics, elder population and Gilbert Policy Analysis Framework focus on helping and protecting the vulnerable population. Even though they all have their own method of dealing with service for the vulnerable population. By utilizing this bill we make society a better place to live
