Our School System Should Check for Lice

Lice in our schools.

Ammended:   Recent events have prompted the school's to check AFTER a case has been REPORTED!   By then, other children have already been infested.

Preventative examinations are the parent's responsibility to check their child and parents are not trained in what to look for. As a result, from k-12 notifications are being sent via email to spread awareness. Pediatricians will prescribe over the counter remedies that only band-aide the situation. Parents and pediatricians are admittedly not trained in this specific trade leaving them no option than bringing their child/siblings to a treatment center costing, on average, $200 to completely remedy the infestation. Or, paying $35 roughly just to have their child checked by a trained professional.

This can be resolved if we would bring back routine lice examinations. Please sign, and help clean our schools of headlice.  Keep in mind, lice are attracted to clean hair so don't let cleanliness fool you!
