Many animals are only at the shelter for 24 hours before they are gassed.The horrific gas execution can last up to 40 minutes and sometimes needs to be repeated. Majority of the animals are gassed due to lack of space, being too skinny or having a shy character. Which could easily be fixed if they were fosted instead of abused.
