Demand all WV BOE employees pass drug screens BEFORE working with OUR Children!

On Thursday and Friday of this week (February 22nd and 23rd) the teachers of WV have planned a walk out to demand better wages. I’m not arguing that they deserve to be paid better for what they do, IF they, and ALL BOE employees are required to submit to drug testing; upon employment, yearly, and randomly. There have been several instances (that have made it to the news) in the last two years where principals and teachers have been caught high on drugs inside our schools, during school hours, and the BOE not only didn’t fire them, in at least one instance, a principal was given a weeks leave WITH PAY, then subsequently moved from the high school to an elementary school! Our Board of Education is failing us, by not requiring drug testing! Our teachers, principals, bus drivers, cooks, and even janitors should all be required to be sober and set a good example for our children! It’s time we band together as parents, grandparents, and concerned citizens, and use this opportunity to demand more out of our state’s BOE. If we don’t, it’s not going to happen! They have already proven that. Sadly. If the teachers want more money, I ask you to sign my petition requiring them, and all state BOE employees to submit to drug testing. Almost every other job requires it. Why should the ones taking care of our children not have to?! Let’s do something about it!!
