Youth Program, Parent Committee, More academic recognition

I am a mother of 6 that attend Warsaw Elementary and Warsaw Middle School. I would like to see a youth program for our children within the school. My children loss their cousin in February at 9 years old and their teacher in May and despite how many days they missed and how hard it was for them 4 out of my 6 maintained A averages. I feel that we have so many children with ADHD and other behavioral or learning disabilities that work hard despite their issues, but they get no recognition. Parents don't you think that if kids are rewarded for perfect attendance they should be rewarded for maintaining a C average? Like a lot of parents I teach my children to do their best and to sit at an award ceremony knowing that despite everything they went through they maintaned A, B, and C averages but a C wasn't good enough to be rewarded is very hurtful. What if 3 out of the 4 nine weeks your child gets straight A's but the last semester was a little rough, but they got a C average? Should our kids not be rewarded because 1 out of four reporting periods they got a C?  I would also like to start a parent committee of volunteers that's willing to tutor and plan events for our children. I don't feel that our children should have to wait until the end of the school year to get recognized for their academic success. Our children should be recognized at least once per semester to keep them motivated and encouraged to keep up the good work.  The children are the future and we really need your help parents to take a stand and get some changes in our school system. I challenge you to look at surrounding schools and compare them to our schools. Our children need us to stand up for them and support them. Parents it's important that we volunteer in the classrooms, support our children at awards and help them with their homework. The teachers are there to teach and we're here to parent, so please take a stand with me and show our children and our school system that United we stand and divided we fall.
