Demand Florida Prosecute Man Who Beat Defenseless Dachshund to Death

On the afternoon of August 8, 2014, a man named Stacy Sean Glover was dog sitting for his wife's co-worker. Instead of taking care of the dog, named Athena, Glover allegedly did a horrible and heartbreaking thing. According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, Glover threw the small, defenseless 12-lb. dachshund out a patio door, then grabbed her and punched her to death.

How do they know who did this? The whole wretched crime was captured on the family's security surveillance video camera. Glover has been arrested and charged with four felony counts of aggravated cruelty to an animal and one felony count of tampering with evidence. He now awaits trial.

What remains is to prosecute Glover. If you'd like to urge the State Attorney for the 12th Judicial District of Florida, Ed Brodsky, to prosecute this case to the fullest extent possible, please sign this petition. Care2 will ensure your signatures and messages are delivered to Mr. Brodsky for his consideration as this case moves forward.

Dear State Attorney Brodsky:

Those who have signed this petition, like many other members of the public, were distressed and horrified to learn about the recent incident in Sarasota County, Fla., in which a helpless young dachshund named Athena was reportedly beaten to death by the man who was supposed to be dog sitting for her, Stacy Sean Glover.

We applaud the fact that Glover has been charged with four felony counts of aggravated cruelty to an animal and one felony count of tampering with evidence. We submit our signatures to this petition to urge you to pursue the maximum punishment available in Florida for this heartbreaking crime.

We thank you for giving this matter the attention it deserves.
