Save our Play After Learning Scheme (PALS) for kids with special needs

To show our support in keeping open a special needs group in Clydebank for kids & young adults with learning difficulties & special needs in our community. The service provides some respite for parents / carers and play activities for the children themselves. The council is proposing that funding for the group is cut from June 2015. Without council funding the group will close, leaving the kids and parents without this vital community resource. There is a budget consultation on Tuesday 13 January so we need as many signatures as possible before then. Please sign now to demand that the council reconsider this budget cut, so that PALS can keep going!

We at PALS play after learning scheme in Clydebank for kids & young adults with learning difficulties & special needs are fighting the West Dunbartonshire Councils budgeting plans that propose our great club as an option of closure in 2015. This facility is vitally important for the community in our town. I have fundraised wholeheartedly on many an occasion to the benefit & happiness it brings to the group. Please please please show your support & sign our petition if you care in any way for groups like us.

The Council currently funds charity ENABLE Scotland to provide an out of school care service and associated transport for primary and secondary age pupils with significant support needs. The charity and parents/carers are being asked to identify alternative funding beyond June 2015.

West Dunbartonshire Council currently subsidies 60 sessions at PALS, with parents also paying towards each session. Between 20 and 30 children attend sessions at PALS.
