Please Don't Destroy Veteran's Therapy Garden!

Will Needham, a veteran of the conflict in Afghanistan, created a garden in his front yard not only to grow herbs and vegetables, but also to provide therapy. Now a safety bylaw necessitates removal of the garden.

Needham and his girlfriend face a fine of $5000 if they do not remove the garden, and they have stated that they have no intention of destroying their own creation.

As one neighbor put it, "There are more things in the world that people should be obsessed with than a small garden."

The complaint was simply a matter of a wooden planter that was overlapping the sidewalk. The city and the property owner have reached an amicable solution, and the garden will remain!
