Justice for Abused and Neglected Children

For too long have children been the silent victims of abuse and neglect. These children have endured crimes comparable to that experienced during the holocaust. It is time to say enough and change the laws so that these children receive justice. In the past decades abusers have been relinquished of their roll in the torture and murder of young children. Many of which receive a manslaughter charge of only 6 years in prison. These people are not the ones we should pity and defend, it is their victims that are constantly overlooked in this light. Children have been starved, beaten, neglected, bitten, and slaughtered because of the carelessness of an adult. It should not matter what your circumstances harming a child deserves a severe punishment. These children have no protection, especially when their abuser is a parent or caregiver. We have to stand up and be the voice of the children. There are stories all over the world about human rights and increasing equality, in our own country children have yet to be heard. It is time for a change, to protect those that cannot protect themselves. This is for the children, may their voice be heard.
