Chilliwack SPCA Euthanasia

I recently learnt that the Chilliwack SPCA branch is the only SPCA that still euthanizes animals when they have been there for too long or are at full capacity. No other SPCA uses euthanasia anymore. I strongly believe that this should not even be an option.

If you're still not sure what exactly euthanasia is, it's when they decide to 'put the animal down' ..in other words, killing it. I was in shock when I learnt that they still use euthanasia as an option. Poor and innocent animals are being killed..no other SPCA does this, so clearly there are other options that can be put into action besides killing an animal. So why is the Chilliwack SPCA still doing this?

Just because an animal is not adopted out quick enough, does not mean it deserves to die. They cannot choose their home, they cannot make someone adopt them, they don't have a voice, so we need to be their voice for them.

People donate money to the SPCA all the time, if the problem is that there is not enough housing for the animals then put money into expanding the SPCA building. If there is not enough funding coming in so that all the animals can be cared for, then put the SPCA name out there..make it be heard that these animals need help. Not to mention they also don't make it very easy to adopt an animal with how strict their adoption rules are.

I don't know about you, but this makes me sick. There are many other options that can be taken into action, besides euthanasia. If you feel the same way, please help put an end to this horrible and saddening action.
