Promoting Literacy through Music and Art

It has been brought to the attention of the world once again; the staggering number of Nationally recognized and Major record label backed artists who cannot read or write in America.

Personally as an american born Person of African descent and a teaching artist since 1993, this disgusts me watching as the defamation of an entire generations character happens. Black and Brown cultural expression is being devalued, demonized and made into a laughing stock due to what is seeming to be intentional misrepresentation, coupled with the overly propagated celebration of ignorance and applauded mediocrities. At which point do we blame self perpetuation of these crucial matters over the roots of this trending downward spiral into desensitization leading our youth ultimately more than not to self destructive thinking and habits.

If you are tired of the CRAP the media and big businesses are force feeding our young population through all channels of human relations under the guises of "This is what's HOT right now!"  Please sign this petition to push for more positive less Drug Related and Hatefull messaging from the Record Label Moguls & Superstars in the American music and entertainment industry. Make this stand with Suntonio Bandanaz to hear and see more voices and artists who aren't just looking for a "quick buck" but have respect for human life and value education, both in their respective crafts as well as in normal day to day living.

Start by listening to my newest work entitled THINKING CAP then share it with someone you think is special. Your brain is your helmet.
