Everyone has the right to their own beliefs but when those beliefs directly affect my children, well we have a problem. That's right i'm referring to the people who choose not vaccinate their children. When did ones beliefs become so much more important than thousands of children? I do EVERYTHING to keep my children safe and healthy. Never did I consider them being in harms way by an unseen force carried by an unvaccinated child. I found out today there are 5 children at my daughters school that are not vaccinated! I just kept her home for a cold to make sure she did not get any other children sick. A COLD! There are children that are allowed to attend school that could possibly carry life threatening diseases. All are preventable. When I addressed my concerns to the principle I was told they can not deny a child an education. Let me get this straight...you can not deny an education but can jeopardize innocent childrens life to life threatening, preventable diseases?!Call me crazy but I pick my childrens life and well being over education. There are laws that keep weapons out of schools. Why? Because they can injure and even kill our children. Nonvaccinated children hold the potential to do the same. Because we can't see it or physically hold it like you can a gun or knife should we ignore the risks that come with it? Absolutely not! There are enough online schools nowadays that it would not be denying an education. Please answer me why ones "beliefs" mean so much more than the lives of innocent children?! Help me make the schools a safe HEALTHY environment for our children.
