Bring the FULL Computer Science Pathway to QAC High School …NOW!!

I was in disbelief when I learned that the Computer Science Career Pathway that’s offered to high school students in Queen Anne’s County, MD is offered at ONLY ONE of the county’s two high schools!

The four course pathway is offered at Kent Island High School (KIHS), ONLY to that school’s students.

It is NOT offered at Queen Anne’s County High School (QACHS), and QACHS students DO NOT have access to the KIHS courses.

The two schools are only roughly 20 miles apart, and KIHS students who want to access a pathway that is not offered at their school, but IS offered at QACHS, are provided public school transportation to and from QACHS, so that they have access to EVERY high school Career and Technology Pathway offered in the county.

There is NO reciprocity... a QACHS student who wants to pursue the full Computer Science Pathway, currently only offered at KIHS, CANNOT access it.

THIS BLATANT INEQUITY BETWEEN THE SCHOOLS IS UNFAIR AND INTOLERABLE!

Please join us and insist that Queen Anne’s County officials and administrators do whatever it takes to make the full Computer Science Career Pathway available to ALL Queen Anne’s County high school students, immediately!
