Tell St. Louis Catholics Not To Stomp on Girl Scouts

St. Louis Catholic leaders are encouraging church members to distance themselves from the Girl Scouts. Their reasoning: Girl Scouts supports gay and transgender rights. Archbishop Robert J. Carlson recently drafted and sent a letter to church leadership about how the Girl Scouts are not morally in sync with the Church. Among other things, the letter announces that the Catholic Committee on Girl Scouts has been disbanded. The Archdiocese is even telling good Catholics not to buy Girl Scout cookies! Please join me in asking the St. Louis archdiocese to retract its statements about Catholic participation in the Girl Scouts.

To the St. Louis archdiocese:

I am deeply concerned that you are encouraging good Catholics to distance themselves from the Girl Scounts. It appears you have absolutely the worst reasons. Yes, the Girl Scouts embraces diversity. So should you. In disbanding the Catholic committee on Girl Scouts, you have severed a long-standing and mutually beneficial tie.  Please retract your statements about Catholic participation in the Girl Scouts.
