Over 10,000 dogs — many just puppies — were killed at the 2014 and 2015 dog festivals in Yulin, China. And it's going to happen all over again, unless people like you speak out to stop the horrific Yulin 2016.
One of the most terrifying things about the annual Yulin Festival is that it leads to many abductions of household dogs, cats and other pets by kidnappers looking to make a quick buck as the dog festival begins. CNN reports that local animal lovers often try to buy the dogs before the butchers can, but the dog sellers often refuse to sell to the activists.
The good news is that the Chinese government is feeling the pressure to stop the Yulin Festival. According to the Guardian newspaper, the country has started regulating the dog meat trade, and sales dropped by a third from 2013 to 2014. You have their attention on this issue, so another international outcry could save thousands of dogs!
