Demand the Supreme Court protect emergency abortion care

The Supreme Court began hearing arguments in a case involving the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) which requires doctors to stabilize or treat any patient who shows up at an emergency room – including providing abortion care.

The court will decide whether state-level abortion bans violate EMTALA, or whether those draconian bans in states like Idaho, Texas, and Florida trump this critical law.

We're seeing the fatal consequences of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade as doctors are threatened with losing their licenses or being arrested for providing emergency, medically necessary, life-saving care. We need the Supreme Court to do the right thing for once and rule against these deadly abortion bans.
