Our neighborhood is abundant with young active kiddies. We need a local splash pad. Blantyre park and the surrounding area does not have any water play for small children within walking distance. The pool in the park cannot be accessed by everyone. Young children must be accompanied by an adult in the pool in order to enjoy the water.
Blantyre park is utilized by so many toddlers and young children all year round. But in the summer months there isn't any shade in the park. The new gazebo is ideal to create shade for parents to stay cool. Unfortunately, the children are at the park to play. So they are in the sun for the duration of their time at the park. On hot sunny days the slides and play equipment are too hot from the sun for the children to enjoy. Please sign our petition in support of a new splash pad.
