If you take the time to learn about the beautiful betta fish, you'll realize that they need more than what you might give them. They need more than just a tank. When bettas are shipped to your local pet stores, they are shipped in little tiny bags with maybe 1/4 a cup of water in them. They need two cups MINIMUM when being shipped. Or should they be shipped at all?
Imagine you are a little betta fish. Normally your swimming around a happy tank when suddenly a man snatches you up in what seems to be a zipper bag. It is only big enough for you to live for.... you probably wont. Your new water has a really blue colour. Now you're drowsy. What is going on?
This is exactly how it is. The new water is a blue colour, because there is a drug in in it to make the bettas feel numb when they endure long, bumpy trips across the country. Distributers do this instead of shipping them in the containers you see at the stores. So it's not the stores. It's the distributers.
Sign to stop this. The bettas you see at the pet store will be a lot more happy, and healthy when this petition passes. When you take it home, it will live longer. Not just after a few days. It is better for you and your betta when you sign. Remember: It's not just a fish.
