Pit bulls seem destined to get the worst that human owners can deal out, and a ten-year old pit bull in Belle Glade, Florida is no exception. Luc Jean Baptiste was recently arrested for sawing his dog's front right leg off. A witness says he first duct-taped her mouth and hog tied her. Understandably, the dog would have otherwise put up a fight. News reports say that Baptiste was doing a little at home surgery because his dog's leg was injured.
So his solution to an injured leg was NOT to take his dog to the vet, but to risk her life by mutilating her without even an anesthetic.
A dangerously infected uterus strongly suggests that the dog had been irresponsibly used as a puppy mill. Since Baptiste's arrest, a veterinarian has surgically removed the dog's uterus and officials working on the case hope that her leg can be repaired and that she can be placed in a MUCH better home. Tell Bell Glade's courts to throw the book at Baptiste!
