Help Patients Receive Better Care

Overworked nurses affect their patients, coworkers and hospitals, around the country. By working longer shifts, more shifts on reoccurring days, and having less breaks, nurses, doctors, and surgeons, dwindle in their job capabilities. It is important to have a rested and attentive medical staff in order for patients and other staff, to receive the best care for their medical issues. By signing this petition you have decided to join the fight and agree to enforce a state-mandated, regulatory work week, for all nurses and medical staff.

Hospitals have made excuses for low staff numbers, because of "budgets" or "no room for new employees", but all we are asking for is a more regulated shift for those existing staff members , and a few extra nurses to cover a few shifts here and there.

It is very important to give our country's trained medical professionals, time to rest, recuperate, and best prepare themselves to be able to provide, sustain, and care for their patients throughout the week.

A regulated work week, is not the only option for nurses to see a beneficial change in their work environment. Higher pay, for the extra long, and tedious shifts, would help motivate those nurses to be more attentive and helpful during their shifts. Hiring more nurse and staff members that could reduce the number of shifts that the current staff endures, would benefit each staff member on call overall.

When you sign this petition, you help get the word out to hospital officials and nurse around the country, that it is no longer accpetable to be overworked, and mentall exhausted and abused in the work place.

It is time to take a stand, and fight for what nurses around the world deserve and have rights for. We CAN make a difference! Participate in the present and create a better future!
