UK Retailers: Stop Endangering Children With Faulty Car Seat Installations!

Only four out of 42 stores properly installed car seats in a recent Which? investigation. Investigators visited 42 stores belonging to seven retailers who offer to install car seats free of charge. Major children's stores Mamas and Papas, Babies 'R' Us and Kiddiecare were the worst offenders, fitting seats so poorly that children would be in serious danger in case of a car crash.

Among the mistakes employees made were failing to ask about the child's weight and age, failing to explain how to use the seats, and a variety of other errors, all demonstrating a lack of basic training.

Offering to install free car seats is a nice service, but when employees are poorly trained and/or careless, it does more harm than good. Please sign the petition to urge major retailers to train their employees thoroughly before allowing them to install car seats for children!

We, the undersigned, are concerned with reported failures installing children's car seats at several major stores.

Offering to install free car seats is a nice service, but when employees are poorly trained and/or careless, it does more harm than good. We respectfully urge you to train their employees thoroughly before allowing them to install car seats for children. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
