"Distribute Electoral Votes Proportionally Based On The Popular Vote"

  • by: Alexander O

As a result of the distribution of electoral votes to non-presidential candidates, voters throughout the United States felt disenfranchised, as if their votes didn't matter in the 2016 presidential election. Although Hillary Clinton won three million more votes than Donald Trump, she lost to Trump in an electoral landslide. This is the second time this century that a presidential candidate has won the popular vote but lost the Electoral College. We urge the United States Congress to pass reform that would distribute electoral votes based on the popular vote.
