No more Eureka or Carnegie Math!

Nevermind! I see Eureka's point and even though it may be annoying and tediosly repetitive, it is not completely bad! I retract this petition, but please read it because I think I did a good job writing it. Thank you!

I strongly believe that students should not have to learn Eureka and Carnegie math.
Eureka and Carnegie math both over-complicate basic math. The programs insist that you draw out diagrams to show how you found an answer. It is a tedious and annoying process that takes a long time to do. It makes sense to draw out the diagrams at the beginning, but these two programs make you draw out the diagrams every time you do a problem.
Also, if children are confused about how to do something on their homework, the parent has absolutely no clue how to help their child. I am a kid who has had to suffer through Eureka math. (I am in fifth grade) I wanted to start banging my head against my desk in the middle of the lesson.
How would you use Eureka or Carnegie math in life? Would you really pull out paper in the middle of the grocery store to calculate your total costs? I don't think so!
Lots of students do not like Eureka or Carnegie math. Many parents do not like Eureka or Carnegie either.
Make a difference. Do not let your kids suffer through annoying, tedious, boring, and completely unnecessary math work.
If you agree and believe that Eureka and Carnegie math (and any other programs like them) should be discontinued, sign my petition.
