End Loch Lomond Goat Cull Immediately

RSPB Scotland has resumed a controversial cull of feral goats on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond. Twenty goats are due to be shot this year. The local community council and the British Feral Goat Research Group believe the remaining population may be too small to survive a series of harsh winters. It wants to reduce goat numbers in the Inversnaid area from about 69 to 30 in the coming years. But Scottish Natural Heritage has backed the cull.

Hillside Animal Sanctuary urged RSPB Scotland to halt the cull, which is being carried out to protect Pollochro Woods. RSPB Scotland said it would consider alternatives solutions in March, but that the cull will continue until then. Along with advisors at Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), the RSPB wants to reduce goat numbers in the area from about 69 to 30

These goats have been here for a long time and they represent an asset to the tourist industry that Inversnaid depends on. The local people enjoy seeing them too and it would be a great loss if the goats were to disappear.

Dear RSPB & National Heritage Scotland

We the undersigned are APPALLED to hear that the Loch lomond Goat Cull has resumed. Hillside Animal Sanctuary urged RSPB Scotland to halt the cull, which is being carried out to protect Pollochro Woods & offered to give the goats a home for the rest of their lives rather than have them shot. You halted the Cull for a short time only to stop complaints coming in. Now you think you can continue without any further action.

We Demand you END this Cull Completely & Permanently & make necessary arrangements with Hillside at no extra cost to yourselves.

Thank you for your Immediate Action.
