DEMAND REBECCA HARTOG OF WOOLWORTHS ADMIT SUPERMARKET STAFF MAKE MISTAKES

I would like to relay a very short story. On 2 May 2012 I walked down to my local Woolworths Supermarket to purchase a few items and check out the specials. I was not to know I would end up in hospital when I slipped on dish washing liquid in the New Town Woolworths store because Staff had make a mistake in not wiping the floor. This is where it began and today I am in the worst, absolutely agonising chronic pain disability caused by the incident. (Necessary to stand writing this and keep coming back to my PC.)

Short story. I hired an Electric Scooter in September and sent Woolworths a photo of me in it. They offered to purchase one for me and offered to send $2,700 for same but I had to sign a Deed of Release. I did not reply. In February I sent photo of myself laying on lounge (helps to ease my pain with hot water bottle and now sacro belt) and they replied on 4 MARCH 2013 with letter assuring me that Woolworths takes the safety of its customers very seriously. Stated they would be obliged if I would contact them upon completion of my treatment and once my medical condition had stabilised. Asked me to provide copies of account and/or receipts associated with my out of pocket expenses. Obviously when they saw how much I am spending/spent on MRIs, Neurosurgeon, week in hospital, Pathology Tests, Acupuncture, Osteopathy, Scenar Therapy, Anaesthetist/Pain Specialist, Physiotherapy they changed their mind. I then received same letter dated 18 MARCH 2013 as I had previously received stating the offer of $2,700 if I signed a Deed of Release.

I sent a message to REBECCA HARTOG through a site called Linkedin asking to return answer to my message. I received a phone call yesterday 25 MARCH 2013 from REBECCA HARTOG asking if I had received letter dated 18 March 2013.

THIS IS WHAT BIG CORPORATIONS ARE ALL ABOUT. THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT LIABILITY. THEY SHOW NO EMPATHY AND WANT TO DISMISS THE LITTLE PEOPLE AS A NON ENTITY. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ME AND I AM SURE IF YOU WERE IN MY PRESENT CONDITION YOU WOULD FIGHT THE WAY I AM. I have had so much and such a long time of chronic pain I sometimes can't believe I can go on; then I think of my 19 yr old son and dismiss this as a terrible way of thinking. I need to enter hospital on 4 April to have injections at the injury site.

Here is the result of slipping on dish washing liquid in Woolworths (see photo), and of which they will not admit their staff were negligent.

Dear REBECCA HARTOG, Why won't Woolworths actually admit their staff are not perfect. We all make mistakes, nobody is perfect and 2 May 2012 a staff member did not see the dish washing liquid on the floor of the New Town Supermarket and I slipped on it. This is what I wish to convey to you and for you to actually admit you are accountable.

I thank the wonderful staff member who sat with me while waiting for the Ambulance and I am sure she will admit that I was sitting on the hard floor with my jeans soaked in dish washing liquid. The MRI clearly shows the injury, I would definitely like to know why you asked me to send all my accounts/receipts and to advise me to contact you once my medical condition had stabilised. WOOLWORTHS RENEGED ON THIS AND YOU MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AS MATIONAL PUBLIC LIABILITY SENIOR CLAIMS OFFICER.

Yours faithfully

Cheryl Stevens
