Demand an end to discrimination against vegetarians by Hawaiian Airlines

Hawaiian Airlines does not provide vegetarian meals on its flights, even when requested more than a week in advance, as a matter of policy. This policy discriminates against vegetarians. This is wrong and it can be harmful to some (such as those with diabetes that should eat meals at regular times) particularly on long flights. We, the vegetarians/vegans, pay for the meal that we do not receive. This is particularly problematic for people passing through Honolulu airport as that airport also does not have much vegetarian choice for people to purchase meals and carry onto a Hawaiian Airlines flight.
The solution can be simple -- instead of a non-vegetarian dish provide two slices of bread and a combination of peanut butter, jam/jelly, and butter on the side. This is better than nothing and it will provide some much needed nutrition on-board.
Given a sizable segment of people with vegetarian/vegan diet, probably about 5% of the travelers, it is important this issue be addressed properly and expeditiously. Other airlines that have similar policies can also take note.
