Put An End To Dolphin Death Pools In Las Vegas

The Mirage Hotel and Casino's "Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat" is anything but natural--the intelligent marine mammals spend day after day trapped in a shallow concrete pool next to a highway doing tricks for tourists.

The location forces the dolphins to breathe in fumes and smog without protection from the desert heat or the winter snow. As a result, 75% of these captive creatures die prematurely from respiratory infections.

Since 1990, 14 dolphins have died needlessly at the Mirage.

One would think that dead dolphins would be bad for business, but the Mirage just keeps on restocking the "Death Pools" with more innocent animals.

Let's put an end to this cruel and unfair practice immediately!
We, the undersigned of this petition, demand that you discontinue the "Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat" in which 14 dolphins have needlessly died since the exhibit opened in 1990.

The Nevada desert is no place for these beautiful and intelligent animals who deserve to spend their lives in the open ocean, not in shallow pools, breathing in fumes and smog without protection from the elements.

You've seen the error of your ways before, and stopped holding tigers in captivity in your Las Vegas resort, and we now ask that you do the same for these dolphins.

Thank you for taking the time to read this petition and taking action.
