52 people have been shot in Chicago over a single weekend.
9 lives have been lost due to senseless violence.
One of them was a 19-year-old Arshell Dennis, son of a Chicago Police Officer. Arshell Dennis III was preparing to enter his junior year studying journalism. His grandfather explained to the Chicago Tribune that “He was a beautiful young man, full of laughs and always teasing us”.
Arshell Dennis’s life did not deserve to end at 19.
Violence in Chicago is getting out of hand. Every day you hear about a new shooting in the news.
Chicago needs stricter gun regulations to match gun regulations in other big cities like Los Angeles and New York; such as stricter repercussions for repeat offenders, requiring permit for guns, and registering guns.
We need to make our home safe again.
