Petition for the Gingin shire's proposal for waste reform

We the undersigned residents, ratepayers and stakeholders off the township of Seabird strongly object to the shires current proposal to close the tips at Gingin and Lancelin, creating transfer stations at both and carting all refuse to the current Seabird tip. We base our objection on the following grounds:
Aesthetics – the current tip is an eyesore on the only access into Seabird and the expansion of it will only create a larger eyesore.
Environmental – expansion will create increased pollution to sub-terrain aquifers in the region and greatly increase windborne and seagull distributed pollution.
Access – The Seabird access road has not been constructed to a standard that is suitable for the increased haulage by heavy transport that would be incurred.
Alternatives – The shire owns several hundred acres on Wannamal West Road east of Brand Hwy. Land away from population areas, serviced by much more suitable roads
